Our Team - Founder Members

Ambika Agarwal:
Ambika has a Masters in Mass Communications and Public Relations from Symbiosis, Pune. She has worked with LEXICON PR and the Rotary Polio Plus Program. She has been actively involved with NACD and for the last two years has done pioneering work along with the DLF G Block Citizen’s group protesting against illegal garbage dumping, which has accelerated the development of the legal site.

Latika Thukral:
Latika has worked with Citibank for 18 years and was Senior Vice President in 2007. She has a degree in Business Administration from IHC, Paris. On a personal level, she has been involved with fundraising for Sankalp and Goonj for the last 10 years. Her dream was to set up an NGO called ‘Save Gurgaon’, which has been realized two years later with iamgurgaon.

Swanzal Kak Kapoor:
Swanzal holds a degree in Architecture with a specialization in Urban Design and is the design principal at SAKA for the last 13 years. She is passionately committed to ecologically driven urban projects and participatory design. She has been working with AMAR JYOTI on barrier free design for the physically challenged since 1997 and believes that each of us should ‘be the change we want to see in the world.’

Sarat Chopra:
Sarat has 18 years of work experience and is the Manager Director of I:Track, India’s largest GPS Telematics Fleet Management Company. He has a BCom/MCom degree from Fergusson College, Pune and a Masters in International Business from Denver, Colorado, USA. He has been involved with the Valaya Magic foundation in setting up schools for the underprivileged and is committed to making Gurgaon a better place to live in.

Vaibhav Gadodia:
Vaibhav is a software architect with Nagarro and is the driving force behind the IAG website. He believes that there is a lot of unrealized potential in Gurgaon as a city and he is part of this group to help realize this potential. He is become part He has an MCA from IMT, Ghaziabad. He has worked on a rainwater harvesting drive ‘Thirsty Gurgaon’ and has been contributing to CRY and Goonj at a personal level.

Harish Capoor:
Harish Capoor is a Chartered Accountant and management consultant with a specialization in productivity. He has 40 years of work experience with companies like EXIDE and United Breweries, among others. He has done path breaking work in setting up (and successfully running) a pilot project in DLF G Block Phase 1 to improve the quality of the environment.

Deep Kalra:
A professional turned entrepreneur, Deep is the Founder and CEO of the online travel company, MakeMyTrip.com. He is a graduate from IIM, Ahmedabad and Delhi’s St. Stephen’s College. A visionary, he is actively involved with various governing bodies focused on encouraging entrepreneurial ventures and corporate social initiatives. A lover of the outdoors, he’s an enthusiastic whitewater rafter and is a PADI certified diver. He also spends his time being involved with the NGO Udayan Care.

Rohit Kapoor:
Rohit is a chartered accountant by profession. After running a successful consulting practice for 8 years, Rohit diversified into an Interior Designing & Project Management. He runs one of India’s largest integrated project management & design firms. He is also a member of the Indian Green Building Council and the Indian Institute of Interior Designers. He has joined ‘I am Gurgaon’ because of his passion for the environment, in general, and for the city of Gurgaon, in particular. Rohit is leading our Project Implementation Team in transferring our vision for Gurgaon into reality.

Gitanjali Mathrani:
Gitanjali began her career in a Law firm specializing in Litigation as a trainee. She then worked in a Management Consulting firm designing and developing telemarketing assignments and managing databases. Thereafter, she worked as a Researcher at Egon Zehnder International, listed as one of the world's top five retained executive search-consulting firms. After a planned career break, she joined Egon Zehnder’s Knowledge Management and Information Processing Centre, a start-up venture and currently freelances with them. Gitanjali holds a degree in Law from Delhi Law College and a Bachelor of Arts in History and her diverse experience and quiet commitment has been instrumental in developing our Communications and Database.

Shalini Nadkarni:
Shalini commenced a career in Corporate Communication with the Bhartia Group after completing her Bachelors in English honours from Delhi University and a Diploma in Advertising and PR. For five years, she worked with the Bhartia group of companies, developing corporate literature and brochures as well as an internal newsletter for the entire group. She moved on to join Usha International in their Advertising and PR department.This varied experience led her to design a range of home furnishings which gained her a loyal clientele. She made Gurgaon her home four years ago and seeks to make it better in every way.She has worked with TOI's Teach India initiative to teach village children and now brings her creativity to the fore as she heads our volunteer recruitment and management.
